What it does
Why use the desktop app?
A lightweight Electron app that lives in your system tray and talks directly to OBS Studio.
Automatic OBS connection
No copying ports, local IPs or WebSocket passwords. The app finds your OBS, turns on its WebSocket server if it's off and connects on its own.
1-Click Overlay Install
Add your alerts, live chat, wheel or goals to the OBS scene of your choice without copying and pasting browser URLs. The app creates the sources for you automatically.
Instant Clips (Replay Buffer)
Press Ctrl+Alt+C in any game or from your Stream Deck. The app saves the OBS replay buffer and uploads it to Trigglow Clips.
Native text sources in OBS
Show your latest follower, subscriber, top donor or goal progress bar directly as native text in OBS (GDI+ or FreeType), without a browser source.
OBS automations
Run local OBS actions from your triggers: switch scenes with an alert, mute microphones or start recording when you go live on Kick, Twitch or YouTube.
Floating notifications & Tray
The app runs minimized in the system tray without getting in the way. You'll get native notifications on your screen for every donation, new follower or reward redemption while you play.
Setup
Three steps to set it up
No administrator permissions and no restart.
- 1
Download and install
Run the Windows installer. It installs per user, so it needs no administrator permissions or restarts.
- 2
Link your account
Click "Sign in". Your browser opens so you can confirm the link with your Trigglow session.
- 3
Open OBS Studio
The app will detect OBS automatically and sync scenes, text sources and keyboard shortcuts without you having to do anything else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions
- Which versions of OBS Studio are supported?
- It works with any modern version of OBS Studio (version 28 onward, including OBS 29, 30 and later), since they include the obs-websocket module natively.
- Does it use a lot of my computer's resources?
- No. The app waits in the system tray in the background. Its native text sources also replace browser sources that OBS would otherwise have to render.
- How do Instant Clips work?
- The app uses the OBS Studio Replay Buffer. When you press the global hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+C by default) or the button on your Stream Deck, OBS saves the last few seconds to your disk and the app uploads them automatically to your Trigglow clip gallery, with no manual trimming or rendering.
- Which operating systems is it available on?
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). There is also a Linux version in alpha, with packages for most distros (.deb, .rpm, .pacman, AppImage and .tar.gz): it is not tested yet, so some features may fail.
- How does the app update?
- The app has a built-in automatic updater. When we publish a new version, it downloads in the background and shows you a notification or a button in the title bar to restart and install it.
